Evan Rosen joined Rosen & Rosen in October of 1997 after having graduated Nova Southeastern University Law School in 1997 and University of Miami in 1994. During his academic career, Evan received numerous accolades and awards. These include multiple Deans List and Provost List Honors, General Honors, receipt of the Bowman Ashe Academic Scholarship and an award for having the Highest GPA in his fraternity’s pledge class. He also was instrumental in forming the first collegiate electronic Bulletin Board System called Young Entrepreneur’s Symposium, which linked college students from around the country together online before the internet as we know it today was created.
Well before Evan began his law career, his passion for the law and for fighting for those seeking and deserving justice was firmly cemented in his heart. As a teenager in high school, Evan was not only drawn in to the competitive nature of wrestling but he also engaged his early sense for honing compelling, heartfelt arguments by competing in team debate. He and his team debate partner travelled around the country, winning several national tournaments, including the prestigious Emory University Tournament.
As an attorney, it did not take long for Evan to dive head first in to a high profile jury trial. While working alongside his father, Ronald Rosen, he prepared and delivered the closing argument that helped obtain a $1,300,000 verdict for a woman who fell at Wal-Mart. Since that trial, Evan has been involved in countless cases against almost every major insurance company and retailer in America. This has led to him spending numerous hours in the courtroom trying cases, arguing motions, and studying the psychology and art of jury selection with renowned jury consultants . He, along with the rest of the Rosen & Rosen team, has obtained several multi-million dollar and numerous six figure results.
In addition to helping clients in traditional real estate transactions, Evan is also representing homeowners in a comprehensive approach to foreclosure defense litigation. He uses this approach to serve his clients’ interests, whether it be staying in the property longer or creating leverage to ultimately find a viable foreclosure alternative, like a short sale, loan modification or deed-in-lieu foreclosure. In order to better serve his foreclosure defense clients, he has been actively engaged with lawyers from around the country in seminars, e-mail list serves and discussion groups to hone legal argument and theory resulting from our nation’s intricate mortgage and foreclosure process. Combining these talents, expertise and background with the rest of Rosen & Rosen’s experienced team has helped numerous clients get back on track.
Either by itself or as part of a comprehensive foreclosure defense strategy, Evan also serves clients by representing them in bankruptcy filings and proceedings. He has extensive knowledge of the United States Bankruptcy Code, one of our country’s most powerful set of laws. His detailed understanding of the important aspects of bankruptcy allows him to give clients facing financial problems the ability to explore all possible options and ultimately seek relief afforded under the Code. Heading the firm’s bankruptcy department, Evan devotes a great amount of time, energy and passion to mastering the law of this field. He is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and is qualified and duly admitted to practice law in the Southern District of the United States District Court. He is also only one of a very select group of Bankruptcy litigators who graduated from the Max Gardner Bankruptcy Litigation Model Boot Camp. Evan is still a very active “lieutenant” in the Max Gardner bankruptcy boot camp “army.”
Evan also spearheads the firm’s debt defense and consumer protection division. Serving clients who are facing lawsuits over credit cards, boat, car, motorcycle and other types of loans, Evan not only looks to find legitimate reasons why the person seeking the debt is not entitled to collect; he also looks to turn the table by aggressively pursuing any number of various consumer debt collection practice violations which are available under several different state and federal statutes outlined in the debt defense section. Evan also helps clients facing debt to successfully challenge and remove improper negative marks on their credit report through his extensive knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act and other applicable state and federal statutes.
While pursuing his legal career, Evan has also immersed himself in the community. He has served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Miami Project for Paralysis, a member of the American Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, Broward County Justice Association, American Association for Justice, Florida Justice Association, and was a board member of the Broward Hurricane Club. He has also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and political causes many times. He is a regular and current volunteer for the Florida Brain Tumor Association and the Greg Wohrle Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in the name of one of Evan’s closest childhood friends, to help those fighting brain cancer. His newest volunteer efforts are in the courtroom as a volunteer with Broward’s Legal Aid Society, helping those who cannot afford a lawyer to fight their foreclosure, find a viable foreclosure alternative and/or file for bankruptcy. He also assists in the Southern District pro-se bankruptcy clinic which helps those who cannot afford a lawyer obtain information on bankruptcy.
Evan M. Rosen prides himself on the trial, jury selection, foreclosure defense, bankruptcy, real estate and debt defense experience and expertise he brings to the Rosen & Rosen team. He is a firm believer that if he and the other attorneys in the office focus on providing a top notch service to their clients, everything else will take care of itself. It is in this philosophy that Rosen & Rosen is here to serve you, focused on one goal, providing you with outstanding legal representation and exceptional personal service.
